Hand-spun Baby Alpaca High Twist

This wool is spun especially for Une Maille A La Fois, to our great delight. Each bobbin weighs approx. 100 g and measures around 75 meters. Classified as CHUNKY, it is ideal for very large stitches (7 to 10 mm). The color of this wool is 100% natural and comes directly from the color of our most common alpacas: ecru.

Its double-spun yarn provides excellent strength while retaining the exceptional softness of this wool, classified as top baby alpaca. On closer inspection, you can see the twisting of the two strands of wool. This wool is perfect for a sweater. For example, allow 7 bobbins for a size M sweater knitted with 8 mm needles.

You can knit this wool in lined yarn with a Kid Fluffy. By blending our mohair and silk wool, Kid Fluffy, with this natural Baby Alpaca Hight Twist, you'll obtain a unique color that will magnify your work.

Care is as important as this exceptional wool deserves: hand-wash only, never stretch.

Alpaca herds are raised in semi-freedom and are not subjected to any animal mistreatment. They undergo no chemical treatment and are raised in the traditional way by families in the communities of the Madre de Dios area of Peru. We regularly visit these communities to meet breeders, spinners and the entire alpaca wool chain.
