Our Baby Alpaca will win you over and reconcile even the most reluctant of us with wool. Because no, it doesn't “sting” at all. On the contrary, it's so soft that Baby Alpaca Bio Naturel is recommended for even the most sensitive skin.
Alpaca wool is one of the softest wools in the world. Derived from the alpaca, a camelid that lives on the high plateaus of the Andes, this TOPS BABY quality is a selection of the animal's underfleece, the softest wool found on these animals.
Fully respectful of the animal, the shepherds and the women who transform it, this wool comes from a Peruvian cooperative with whom we work directly. Quechua Alpaca is Fair Trade certified and awaiting organic certification. This cooperative has succeeded in federating two communities of breeders and spinners, enabling them to add value to their work. Located at an altitude of around 4,500 meters, these communities produce exceptional wool, which we are proud and happy to support.
Entirely hand-spun, this wool is of exceptional quality. It tells a story, an artisanal know-how that Quechua women perpetuate and pass down from mother to daughter. To knit these wools is to support their daily lives and recognize their immense know-how as spinners.
Baby Alpaca 2/6: approx. 160 meters for 50 grams. Entirely hand-spun. Sport quality.
Hand wash, water temperature approx. 30°, no detergent. When washing wool, do not over-stir. Another tip: this Baby Alpaca will appreciate not being washed too much. Your wool will prefer to be aired often. Good aeration is a good substitute for unnecessary washing!
Natural ecru color.
