Natur' Hand spinned Chunky Baby Alpaca

Discover a 100% Baby Alpaca wool, entirely natural and hand-spun in the Andean Highlands of southern Peru, by the Quelchua Alpaca cooperative, our fair trade certified partners.

This wool is spun especially for Une Maille A La Fois, to our great delight.

Each 100gr bobbin measures around 85 meters. The wool has an infinite softness and an even more incredible warmth. Classified CHUNKY, it's ideal for very large knits (8 to 10 mm). Its single-ply spinning gives it unrivalled loft. Care is as important as this exceptional wool deserves: hand-wash only, never stretch.

The color of this wool is 100% natural ecru, the natural color of very light-colored alpacas. The alpaca herds are raised in semi-freedom and are not subjected to any animal mistreatment. They are not treated in any way, and are raised in the traditional way by the families of the communities in the Madre de Dios area of Peru. We regularly visit these communities to meet breeders, spinners and the entire alpaca wool chain.
